Charles Sun is a highly innovative and experienced IT executive with over 25 years’ extensive experience in both the public and private sectors, having routinely and consistently provided the state of the art, innovative, and cutting edge IT solutions and project management with a proactive vision and common sense to many organizations in both the public and private sectors.

Considered as the IPv6 thought leader in the U.S. federal government and described as a "visionary and leader in the effort to move both public sector and industry to IPv6”, Mr. Sun has served as the Technology Co-Chair of the U.S. Federal IPv6 Task Force and has been hosting a monthly Federal IPv6 Technical Roundtable since 2014 with participants and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors.

In 2015 Mr. Sun was nominated for the FedScoop Digital Innovation Award. Named as one of the Top Ten Influencers for Internet of Things (IoT) by IT Chronicles in 2017, he serves on the Technical Program Committee for the IEEE International Conference on Communications 2017 SAC Symposium SDN & NFV.

In addition to writing and publishing articles on the subjects related to the global adoption of the IPv6 and its impact on the future of Internet, such as IoT, SDN, Mr. Sun has also spoken and been invited to speak at the national and international conferences on various topics related to IPv6 and other emerging technologies, including cloud computing & software-defined information technology.

As the SME in Cloud Computing, SDN, NFV, Data Center Virtualization, IPv6, IoT, large enterprise/campus computer systems & converged voice, video, data networks (LAN/WAN/Intranet/Extranet) design, planning, testing, implementation, installation, and IT project management, Mr. Sun previously served as Senior Advisor for Emerging Technologies and LAN/WAN Network Manager & Branch Chief at the U.S. Census Bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce & U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics of U.S. Department of Labor.
